The Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by UPSC is not only one of the most admired post's in India but also one of the most rigorous examinations in the world. Of the 9,45,908 applications in 2015, only 4,63,000 were sitting for the premium, with more than 15,000 cleared in the initial phase.

ELIGIBILITY AND RECRUITMENT IN CIVIL SERVICE


The civil service examination for ICAS IAS and IPS Services is available only to Indian citizens. Must have at least a bachelor's degree from a recognized university - a foreign university recognized by the Association of Central, State, Deemed or Indian Universities. Eligibility for Correspondence Education or those approved by the Government of India. Final year students are also permitted to apply for the first stage of the examination.

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Personal interview




  • PRELIMINARY EXAM


As the first phase of the Civil Services Examination, Prelims is the first step towards taking the aspirations to success. It tests the candidate's basic knowledge and general tastes. Therefore, UPSC candidates are asked to work on their personalities and tastes from the very beginning of preparation. Candidates should study the NCRT books thoroughly and start solving the previous year's question papers to build a stronger foundation. Never leave the current ones and be at the fingertips of each candidate. Therefore, reading newspapers is the most important part of the preparation process.




  • MAINS

There is no doubt that the UPSC is seeking in-depth knowledge of applicants on various subjects in the Main Examination.
Do not discuss current matters with others as important discussions are always in mind. The optional paper should be chosen wisely and based on personal interest. Achieving an efficient pace of writing is another critical step in general learning




  • INTERVIEW

The interview process is entirely a candidate's personality test, and candidates should keep this fact in mind when preparing. Typically, an interview led by the chairperson will consist of five to six-panel members. Interviews are being conducted at the UPSC office at Dholpur House in Connaught Place, New Delhi.
